Roommate agreements are essential in situations where your roommate decides to move while the lease is in effect. If you have a roommate contract, you can sue your roommate on the rest of the rent and the custodians of the remaining costs if the contract allows. If you don`t agree, you could get stuck for rent and services. You should use a cohabitation contract if you and your partner know that you are going to live together for a long time, but you do not want to get married.
